RED EARTH – TERRA ROSSA

Coonawarra is renowned for its special geological and climatic features that nurture vines bearing the highest quality of grapes. Coonawarra’s fame hails from a natural soil phenomenon called the terra rossa.

Food Match – Steak and red wine sounds too obvious a pairing to highlight but sometimes it hits the spot so perfectly it’s worth being reminded there’s nothing better you can eat with a good bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon.

Tasting Notes – Luscious and concertrated fruit flavours beautifully balanced with tannic structure, this is a classic Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon showing intense cassis fruit flavours, covering a broad spectrum from black currant to plum and to plumes, with a long finish on the palate. This wine is made using traditional open fermenters, hand plunged several times a day to extract the maximum flavour and colour and matured in the best oak to compliment the wines structure and complexity. A very good wine to enjoy now or over the next decades.

Food Match – If you’re looking for the perfect wine to match with that thick-cut BBQ steak or Roasted Turkey, Bonaventure Heathcote Shiraz is your answer.

Tasting Notes – Grapes sourced from Heathcote a reputable wine region for high quality Shiraz. Opaque black purple colour with a bright purple hue, the nose offers up a youthfully scented profile of inky freshly crushed blackberries and dark cherries alongside some liquorice, vanillin oak and the classic pepper. The wine is exceptionally poised with characteristic floral notes, spice, gun flint and excellent balance and concentration.
